Why is My Furnace Leaking Water?

If your furnace is leaking water, we’ll help you find what it might be.

If you have a conventional furnace, the most common issues would be having a leaky humidifier, or improperly sized vent pipe.

If you have a high-efficiency furnace, the most common issues are a blocked condensation drain, problems with the condensation pump, or breaks in the condensation line.

To determine if your furnace is high-efficiency or conventional, you can look at the vent pipe. If its a white PVC pipe then you have a high-efficiency furnace. If its metal, it’s a conventional furnace. Or you can look at the yellow tag on your unit and if it says the AFUE is above 90, your furnace is high-efficiency.
